Means of Enhancing the Role of SMEs in the Process of Romania’s Integration in the European Union – Ion Popa

Over the past 10 years, the Romanian economy has experienced periods of positive evolution but stagnation, as well, in the process of reform. As most countries in transition, the Romanian economy experienced a period of strong economic recession in 1990 and then there followed a period of development and decreasing of inflation between 1993-1996. Anyway this first stage of economic stability was supported by a great number of public enterprises.
The paper approaches in this context, the role and mechanisms by which the SMEs substantially contribute to the Romania’s integration to European Union.
