Small and Medium Size Enterprises Internationalization: Lessons from Penang – Lorraine Ruffing

Small and Medium Size Enterprises represent one of the most dynamic factors that influence the economic development of a region or country, aspects that are revealed by the experiences of the developed countries.
The statistics show that the largest part of a GDP is formed by these companies that this sector is the one that provide new jobs and, besides these, it represents a very innovative sector that is able to create new products and services that are tailored to customers needs. This paper emphasizes one of the main strategic options that SME’s sector started substantially to take into consideration: internationalization.
