      Higher education is a high-value commodity that plays an important role in any country�s economy and underpins the international or global economic position. Including the infrastructure, content provision and educational and training services developed by educational institutions equity is considered as a vital educational institution�s contribution to individuals, employers and communities� development. This paper takes into consideration the main aspects of the Romanian higher education equity focusing on: what is equity defining the main equity characteristics, funds and expenses, equity and funding implication on higher education efficiency and challenges to ensure equity�s efficiency in the higher education.
