Aspects on the Management of the Assessment of Organized
Crime Phenomenon in Police Organizations from Europe
In order to improve police cooperation amongst the European Union Member States, efforts to assess organized crime as precisely as possible at European level have been made for many years. Ministries of Interior and of Justice from Member States have noticed that in particular the objective to get to a common definition of the phenomenon still raises big problems.
A certain priority was given to the development of an assessment mechanism, to focus on the approach and analysis of international criminal organizations by competent national authorities.
