The processes and dynamic of change in the operation, structure and workforce within police organizations have represented the object of numerous working papers issued in the past decade. Yet, theories of change management are far from being complete, whilst the phenomenon per se is still insufficiently explained.
The lack of any unification of theories explaining change as a systematic and dynamic process can be justified or, at least, explained, by the number, complexity and mutability of the involved factors. Such aspects as individual psychological phenomena or macroeconomic and political theories have their place in explaining organizational change.
