Contemporary Universities Respond to the Challenges of the Outside World by Means of Various Institutional Structures – Mihai Korka
The university represents an outstanding achievement of humanity in the millennium, which is about to end. We like to compare the university with an ivory tower in order to highlight the perennially of the concerns belonging to the community within the university campus, of defending its academic freedom in the field of education and scientific research. However, Alma Mater has resisted to the erosion of time, not by lack of mobility and by seclusion, but with the means of a certain skill of getting closer to, and even subordinating the economic, social, cultural and political environment in order to fulfill its mission of training the new generations and of permanently enlarging the horizons of scientific knowledge.
